 Youth Walk

On Good Friday, the youth of Grace Church participated in a Faith Walk.  The morning began with the decoration of an Easter Tree with plastic eggs and symbols of Easter.  Then, the youth split into two groups, the jellybeans and the bunnies.  They then went on a “Resurrection Egg Hunt” and read the book Benjamin’s Box, a story about Holy Week through the eyes of a child witnessing the events of that week.  In Godly Play, they heard the story of Easter Eggs, and decorated their own egg with symbolic colors and patterns.  In Cooking Class, they discussed the events of Good Friday, made Resurrection Rolls, and assembled Jelly Bean Prayers.  To finish the morning, all the youth gathered back together and planted a “Pizza Garden” in the raised beds behind the church to remember the Garden of Gethsemane.
