What's a Stephen Minister?

Stephen Ministers are often called "The After People."

  •  after all the casserole dishes have been returned.
  • after the divorce papers have been served.
  • after your last child waves goodbye and is on to a life of their own.
  • after the funeral is over and you realize your life has been turned upside down and you are alone.
  • after the retirement party is over and you have no where to go.
All of these real life happenings and more can be lightened with the caring comfort and confidential listening and help of "The After People," Stephen Ministers.

Christ caring for people through people

Grace Episcopal Church has recently commissioned 12 Stephen Ministers.  After 50 hours of intense training and now participating in twice monthly Continuing Education/Supervision Sessions, they are prepared and ready to help our parishioners in times of life's changes.

For more information or for requesting a Stephen Minister please contact:  Nancy Freudenthal, Stephen Minister Leader at 512-864-3598 or any of your clergy at 512-863-2068.
