Worship

Vergers

The Verger serves as our liturgies' master of ceremonies, and strives to create a solemnly joyful liturgical setting for all services at Grace Central. The Verger prepares the church for worship and guides all activities during the service.

Vergers serve under the direction of the Rector. A period of intensive training is necessary before becoming a verger.

Flowers

The altar at Grace is home to beautiful flower arrangements, donated by various members of our congregation. Often, flowers are donated in memory of loved ones or in thanksgiving for blessings received. Flower sponsors are thanked in the Sunday service bulletin and all are welcome to participate in this ministry.

Acolytes

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

Our children and young adults are a special part of the Grace worship experience.  At the 11:00 am service at Grace Central, our acolytes carry the processional cross and torches, as well as incense on high holy days.

Young people age 7 and up are welcome, and training is provided. The Grace acolyte program teaches youth the virtues of reverence and honor as they learn to serve God through serving His people.

The Grace Greeters and Ushers

Greeters and ushers are the welcoming face of Grace Church. Our greeters welcome congregants at the door of the church and provide them with bulletins, while our ushers assist the mobility impaired and help congregants to find their seats. During the service, the ushers take up the offering of the people and bring these gifts to the altar to be blessed.
