Chaplaincy to the Don T. Hutto Detention Center
We offer bi-weekly, Spanish-language services of Holy Communion to the inmates and staff of the Don T. Hutto Detention Center in the neighboring city of Taylor.
Are you a Spanish speaker? Then come join our team! For more information please contact Fr. Bertie bertie@graceepis.org
Women's Storybook Project
Women’s Storybook Project of Texas is a special program that helps incarcerated mothers to comfort and nurture their children through reading them bedtime stories. This allows these women to use their own voices to love, reassure, and encourage their children from miles away.
Watch the “The STORY of Storybook” video to learn how Women’s Storybook Project volunteers are transforming the lives of incarcerated women, their children and caregivers.
Please contact Wanda Stimson (ws.texas@verizon.net) or Julia Taylor (jttay101@aol.com) to learn more about this ministry.
The Pastoral Care Committee
Grace parishioners visit the ill and homebound for weekly and monthly home communion services. Please contact Janela Barnes (onebarton@aol.com) to learn more about this ministry.
Grace Prayer Shawls
Members of Grace knit prayer shawls which are distributed to those in hospital and hospice, those who are experiencing grief, and to anyone in need of spiritual comfort. If you have a gift for knitting, or would like to learn how to knit, please come join us!
We gather on the third Thursday of each month (except July & August) at 10:15 am in the parish hall. Please contact Alicia Shamblin (mancha86@gmail.com) to learn more about this ministry.
Daughters Of The King (DOK)
The Daughters of the King are women and girls between the ages of seven and one hundred and seven who desire a closer walk with the Lord. We are Christian women, both lay and ordained, who are strengthened through the discipline of a Rule of Life, and supported through the companionship of our sisters. We are all at different stages of our Christian journey – some have just begun and some have been on this path for a long time. But no matter where we are on our sacred journeys, our primary goal is the same: to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others.
Please contact Dianne Johnson (johnson418@suddenlink.net) or Wanda Stimson (ws.texas@verizon.net) or Bonnie Boorman (bboorman@gmail.com) to learn more about this ministry.
Loaves & Fishes
Loaves and Fishes is a ministry of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW). We host receptions at Grace for funerals and memorial services at no cost to the families. These receptions give the families time to visit and share memories of their loved ones with friends and family.
Please contact Judy McKinney (judymckinney@att.net) to learn more about this ministry.
